Job Description: Tax Consultant Intern

This internship is for highly-motivated, innovative thinkers with an aptitude for technology who are passionate about tax consulting. You will gain first-hand experience in the day-to-day responsibilities of this exciting and rewarding career.

During the internship, you will:

Receive mentorship and guidance: Learn from seasoned Deloitte professionals and develop valuable skills under their expert guidance.
Assist clients: Contribute to tackling multi-jurisdictional tax operations challenges, including tax compliance, reporting, and risk management for direct and indirect taxes.
Gain hands-on experience: Participate in projects that involve interviewing clients, documenting workshop results, determining tax requirements, researching tax issues, and translating tax needs into technology solutions.

Manage multiple assignments in a team environment, both in person and virtually
Apply problem-solving skills to analyze complex situations and find solutions
Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor or Masters degree in accounting, taxation, information systems, technology, or a related field (strong preference for accounting and STEM dual degrees)
• Demonstrated interest in and aptitude for technology
• For CPA eligible candidates, definitive plans for meeting minimum educational requirements for CPA eligibility (which may differ from the educational requirements to sit for the CPA exam) in the state of your assigned office location
• Ability to travel up to 65% on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
• Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2 – 3 days per week
• The start date for this position will be in Summer 2024, Winter 2025
• Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at the time of employment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong academic track record (minimum GPA of 3.2)
