Discovery Intern (Sophomore/Junior) Tax Job Description

This internship provides a comprehensive look into the world of professional services at Deloitte, specifically within the Tax department. You’ll gain hands-on experience by working on real client projects, receiving mentorship and support throughout the process.

Here’s what you can expect:

Client Project Involvement: You’ll be assigned to one or more client projects, allowing you to apply your skills and knowledge in a practical setting.
Learning & Networking: You’ll participate in various national and local learning events, including lunch and learns, industry/service line spotlights, and regular training sessions. This will help you develop technical and client service skills and build a professional network.
Mentorship & Growth: You’ll be assigned a dedicated mentorship team, including a counselor and onboarding advisor, to provide guidance and support throughout your internship. You’ll also have opportunities to connect with other mentors, both formal and informal.
Career Progression: Depending on your performance, you may be eligible for a subsequent internship opportunity at Deloitte. Freshman or Sophomore interns may continue in the Discovery program through their Sophomore summer, while Sophomore or Junior interns can receive a client service internship offer at the end of the program.

To be successful in this role, you should:

• Be a College Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior with plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in a business, accounting, economics, STEM, or related field.
• Have a strong academic track record (minimum GPA of 3.0).
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, creativity, and self-confidence.
• Be able to adapt to change and work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Be able to work in a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2-3 days per week.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong academic track record (minimum GPA of 3.2).

This internship will start in Summer 2025. You must be at least 18 years of age at the time of employment.

Wage Range: A reasonable estimate of the current wage range is $28 to $32.
