Embark Scholar Intern Job Description

KPMG is currently seeking an Embark Scholar Intern for their Embark Scholars program. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience and learn about various aspects of professional services.

Responsibilities:

Rotation: Rotate through KPMG’s audit, tax, and advisory businesses to gain firsthand knowledge of how they serve clients and understand the career opportunities within professional services.
Assignments: Engage in a diverse range of assignments across different practices, working as part of engagement teams.
Data & Analytics: Assist with data extractions and analysis to support the use of audit methodology, Data and Analytics (D&A), and tax and advisory related tasks.
Engagement Support: Contribute to creating work paper files, preparing client reports and deliverables, and organizing business development activities.
Analysis & Insights: Assist with identifying the scope of engagement capabilities, reviewing client materials, providing insights gained, and proposing how analysis can be leveraged for effective execution.
Technology & Analytics: Utilize a range of technologies and analytics tools in your work.
Financial Information Integrity: Contribute to maintaining the integrity and transparency of financial information.

Qualifications:

• Must be enrolled in an accredited college, university, or community college.
• Pursuing or intending to pursue a Bachelor or Master of Accountancy, Taxation, or other related degree.
• Intention to obtain a CPA is preferred for accounting majors.
• Must have completed at least 1 semester of coursework at the time of application.
• Upon completion of the Embark Scholars internship program, candidates must have at least 3 additional semesters to complete before obtaining their degree and/or CPA eligibility requirements.
• Preferred GPA of 3.00 or above.
• Demonstrates or conveys a commitment to fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion, respecting and valuing differences among all people.
• Prior participation in KPMG leadership programs (e.g., Rise, Talent +) or other organizations’ leadership programs is a preferred qualification.
• Excellent communication, task, time management, and leadership skills.
• Flexible and adaptable team player with strong resourcefulness in delivering high-quality work.
• Must reside within a commutable distance to the office and be able to travel to work locations using own means of transportation.
• Work location may be in the office, but could be at client sites, some of which may require travel and overnight/extended stay.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship.
