Job Description
Encore is seeking a Sales Manager, Venues to guide customers through their event experiences, identify solutions that meet their goals and objectives, and deliver a compelling event experience. This role utilizes all available tools to maximize event and revenue capture from assigned customers, cultivate relationships with key hotel personnel, and support company initiatives, business strategies, and core values. Reporting to a Sr. Sales Manager, Sales Director, or Director, Event Technology, the Sales Manager, Venues will be responsible for the following key job responsibilities:
Revenue Generation:
• Actively solicit and secure business through a proactive, consultative sales approach, utilizing Encore’s sales process and methodology.
• Prepare and present quotes and proposals to customers in a timely manner, including those submitted through Encore’s website, venue booking systems, or other assigned sources.
• Collaborate effectively with vendors and other departments/divisions of the company to capture and service events.
• Attend site visits, pre-conference planning meetings, and appropriate venue meetings to support the customer event experience.
• Understand event cost structure and incorporate it into solution designs to meet established profitability guidelines.
Relationship Management:
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers, venue personnel, and various Encore supporting functions and departments.
• Conduct thorough research on customer history and previous experiences to create personalized customer experiences.
• Attend customer meetings, understand their goals, and respond to their questions, concerns, and challenges.
• Ensure all customer information is accurate and up-to-date in the Customer Relationship Management system (CRM).
• Actively refer and guide customers through the Encore network, leveraging contacts to secure additional opportunities.
Sales Accountability:
• Maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities to achieve established revenue targets.
• Ensure all known opportunities are accurate and updated in CRM at all times.
• Support sales forecasting efforts at the home location, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
• Learn and adopt all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to the role and new initiatives/programs.
• Stay informed about new product/service offerings and emerging technology supporting meetings and events.
Job Qualifications:
• A Bachelor’s degree or 1+ years of Encore or equivalent experience is required.
• 1 year of technology sales or hospitality experience is preferred.
• Prior sales experience in audiovisual is a plus.
• Knowledge of the hospitality industry and sales processes is preferred.
• Technical aptitude and computer proficiency are required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Work Environment:
• This role is based in a hotel/convention center environment with moderate exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt, sand, and dust.
• The working conditions vary from moderately quiet to noisy volumes.
• Team members will utilize high-end audiovisual equipment and electrical components, and may be exposed to heights via lifts and ladders.
• Team members may be asked to work in multiple hotel locations.
• Work schedules will include irregular hours and on-call status, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Encore for each hotel or city.
