CenterPoint Energy is looking for a Gas Operations Supervisor to join its Indiana & Ohio Gas Team, located in Greenfield, IN. The Gas Operations Supervisor will supervise and direct the operation and maintenance of the distribution system in accordance with established plans, policies, and procedures. They will provide customers with a safe and adequate energy supply. They will coach and develop the Field Operations Team, ensuring desired individual and team performance and maintaining a cohesive team environment. The Gas Operations Supervisor will participate as an effective team member of Field Operations that strategically supports company and corporate goals and objectives.

Essential Functions of the Gas Operations Supervisor include:

Observing, coaching, developing employees, and improving individual and team performance by creating an environment that allows individuals and teams to contribute to their maximum potential.
Conducting timely and effective performance discussions.
Upholding the corporate affirmative action commitment and ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Implementing Field Operation’s strategic plan. Monitoring plan results to ensure the highest level of customer-driven, safe, cost-effective, quality results that assure compliance with all internal and external codes, policies, procedures, and standards.
Participating in Field Operations development of department goals, expense/capital budgets, and collective bargaining contract administration. Participating in a manner that supports department, company, and corporate objectives, values, and services.
Coordinating fleet maintenance and maintaining an adequate supply of materials, equipment, tools, and supplies to complete work.
Cost-effectively managing Field Operation activities to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction. Initiating regular contact with internal and external customers to understand their needs and expectations and build positive relations. Resolving customer complaints in a timely and constructive manner.
Implementing and administering policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for customers, employees, and the general public. This includes supervising emergency situations, assuming weekly night callout as required, promoting safety awareness to employees, and assuring the availability of safety equipment to ensure customers an adequate and safe energy supply.
Reporting/responding to jobsites when emergencies are occurring at any time of day, night, or weekend.

Education Requirements:
Requires a Business Administration Degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent years of service and leadership experience.

Experience Requirements:
Requires 7 years of leadership experience in the delivery and/or gas distribution or related environment.

Physical Requirements:
Able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Able to demonstrate and apply the manual dexterity to operate a personal computer and common office equipment. Able to operate a motor vehicle and drive a motor vehicle daily or for extended time periods, in a safe manner, and enter/exit the vehicle unassisted.

Working Conditions:
Required to participate in CenterPoint Energy’s Emergency Operation Plan (EOP). Able to be included in random drug screen pool required for DOT safety-sensitive positions. Able to work indoors in an office environment and outdoors with occasional exposure to all weather conditions, equipment, and noise when at field installation sites. Able to work regular hours, with occasional or mandatory overtime. May be required to work rotating shifts. Able to respond to emergency calls and/or callouts and occasionally return to work while off duty. Able to handle emergency situations, including possible exposure to gaseous atmospheres on occasion.
