This job posting is for a Payroll Training and Development Manager. This role involves leading and managing the Payroll Training and Development Team and Process. The successful candidate will be responsible for training and developing staff to improve accuracy and efficiency of payroll operations and systems. They will also ensure superior internal and external customer service, maintain integrity, and enhance understanding of Compass payroll business processes.
Key responsibilities include:
• Implementing tactics to improve retention and reduce turnover
• Managing all aspects of payroll training operations
• Providing subject matter expertise to the training team for developing training tools
• Assisting with documenting system changes and their impact on training materials
• Reviewing training material and tools for all system applications
• Assessing changes needed to training material and documentation based on regulatory and process changes
• Providing training to department teams on topics such as new hire training, specific team training, system and process changes, payroll system training (MySTAFF and SAP), wage and hour regulations, and payroll related regulatory changes
• Assisting with training field managers on MySTAFF/MyRequests system training, sector entitlement policies, compliance risks related to MySTAFF misuse, and wage and hour regulations
• Maintaining knowledge base articles for MyRequests
• Updating information/messages on Payroll or Payroll related websites (MySTAFF, MyCompass)
• Coordinating the Summer Intern Program
• Coordinating department recruitment
The ideal candidate will possess:
• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of training experience
• 3+ years of payroll experience (preferred)
• A successful track record of reengineering processes to improve controls and efficiencies
• Exceptional leadership qualities with a hands-on approach to developing and motivating individuals and a team
• Strong interpersonal communication skills (oral, written, and presentation) and the ability to build relationships across all levels of an organization
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Knowledge of SAP and Time and Attendance experience
• The ability to be flexible in a changing environment and to handle multiple tasks
• The ability to work extended hours without advanced notice and work under pressure within strict time constraints
• Initiative and a passion for Training and Payroll
The position requires approximately 10-15% travel.
