Embark Scholars Program:
The Embark Scholars Program offers a unique internship experience designed to help students explore a career in professional services with KPMG. The program is open to all eligible students, with special encouragement for those from traditionally underrepresented minority groups in the professional services industry.
Responsibilities:
• Rotation: Interns will rotate through KPMG’s Audit, Tax, and Advisory businesses, gaining hands-on experience and understanding how they serve clients.
• Assignments: A spectrum of assignments across various practices will provide a comprehensive view of professional services.
• Team Work: Interns will work alongside engagement teams, supporting the use of audit methodology, Data and Analytics (D&A), and tax & advisory tasks.
• Data Analysis: Tasks will include data extractions, analysis, and preparation of client reports and deliverables.
• Business Development: Interns will participate in organizing business development activities.
• Technology and Analytics: The program encourages leveraging a range of technologies and analytics tools.
• Financial Integrity: Interns will contribute to the integrity and transparency of financial information.
Qualifications:
• Enrolment: Must be enrolled in an accredited college, university, or community college and pursuing or intending to pursue a Bachelor or Master of Accountancy, Taxation, or related degrees.
• CPA Intent: Intention to obtain a CPA is preferred for accounting majors.
• Coursework: Candidates must have completed at least one semester (or equivalent for quarter schools) of coursework at the time of application.
• Program Completion: Upon completion of the internship, candidates must have at least 3 additional semesters (or equivalent) to complete their degree and/or CPA eligibility requirements.
• GPA: Preferred GPA of 3.00 or above.
• Diversity & Inclusion: Demonstrated commitment to creating an inclusive culture. This can be shown through involvement in diversity organizations or leadership experiences.
• Skills: Excellent communication, task, time management, and leadership skills. Flexible and adaptable team player, resourceful in delivering high-quality work.
• Location: Must reside within a commutable distance to the office and be able to travel to client sites, which may require overnight stays.
• Visa: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without needing employment-based visa sponsorship.
