Job Description:
KPMG is seeking a Tax Intern to join their KPMG Tax practice. This internship offers a dynamic learning experience, providing valuable exposure to real-world tax challenges and contributing to a team helping high-profile clients navigate complex business opportunities and challenges.
Responsibilities:
As a Tax Intern, you will be involved in a variety of tax-related tasks, including:
• Compliance, Advising, and Planning: Perform tax compliance, advisory, and planning duties for a diverse client base across various industries, including multistate and multinational enterprises. This entails working with partnerships, corporations, and S-corporations.
• Data Analytics: Participate in data analytics assignments utilizing KPMG technology, contribute to the creation of tax return work papers and tax returns for clients, and coordinate with offshore resources.
• Tax Due Diligence: Conduct tax due diligence investigations to identify tax exposures and opportunities for clients.
• State and Local Tax: Assist multi-state companies with navigating state and local tax issues, encompassing compliance, advising, planning, and handling potential controversies.
• Multinational Tax: Advise multinational enterprises on both business and tax planning decisions. This includes helping clients strategize on optimal location and operation, entity selection, supply chain optimization, capital mobilization for global operations, and anticipating short- and long-term tax implications.
• Teamwork and Client Relationships: Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team on various assignments and maintain excellent client relationships.
• Technology Proficiency: Develop your capabilities in key technologies that enhance tax professional service delivery, including artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, Power BI, and more.
Qualifications:
• Education: Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, accounting, finance, taxation, mathematics, economics, information technology, data and analytics, engineering (financial, industrial, or systems), or equivalent program.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Accounting and Taxation degrees/areas of study.
• Pursuing CPA licensure requirements in the state where the office is located.
• GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Coursework or minor in information systems, software engineering, computer science, or data and analytics.
• Skills:
• Demonstrated quality service mindset.
• Strong technical aptitude, critical thinking skills, and proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
• Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills.
• Ability to learn and utilize technologies like AI, Alteryx, and Power BI.
• Ability to travel and work on-site at client premises as needed.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
