Job Description: FlightPath Intern
This internship program offers a unique opportunity for aspiring aviation professionals to gain practical experience within the world of UPS Flight Operations. The program spans a year and provides the intern with a deep understanding of the various departments within UPS aviation, including Flight Operations, Airline Safety, and Flight Training.
Responsibilities:
The FlightPath Intern will assist in a wide range of tasks including:
• Data Analysis: Gathering, analyzing, and reporting data related to fleet operations and training.
• Training Development: Assisting in the development, updating, printing, and distributing of training materials for UPS flight crews, including presentations and classroom materials.
• Multimedia Design: Drawing, designing, developing, and publishing graphical and multimedia content for training purposes.
• Audits and Reporting: Assisting in conducting audits and preparing reports.
• Crewmember Support: Providing support to crew members during operations and training.
• Training Project Analysis: Evaluating proposed training projects to determine the appropriate training level required.
• Data Analysis: Analyzing training and operational data to address training and safety concerns.
• Facility Tours: Conducting tours of the Flight Training Center, including simulator sessions.
• Manual Updates: Assisting with updates to aircraft operations manuals and materials.
• General Office Duties: Performing routine office tasks.
• Community Service: Assisting in organizing community service activities.
• Promotional Events: Participating in promotional events for the FlightPath Program, such as career fairs and aviation events.
Post-Internship Opportunities:
After successfully completing the year-long internship, the intern may have the opportunity to continue their journey within the UPS FlightPath Program at Ameriflight, the world’s largest Part 135 cargo carrier.
Required Skills:
• Minimum of 300 total flight hours.
• Junior or Senior in an undergraduate program or less than 2 years postgraduate with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Commercial Pilot License with a multi-engine class rating.
Preferred Skills:
• Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)
• Minimum of 20 Hours Multi-Engine
