Engineer Co-op – January 2025

Where You’ll Work:
You’ll be placed in one of Cargill’s numerous production facilities located in communities across the United States. You’ll have the chance to work across diverse business units including:
• Agricultural Supply Chain North America (CASCNA)
• Animal Nutrition & Health (ANH)
• Cargill Protein & Salt (CPS)
• Cargill Food & Bio (CFB)
• Starches and Sweeteners and Texturizing Solutions (CSST)
What You’ll Do:
As an Engineer Co-op, you will gain valuable experience in either:
• Operations Leadership: Lead production or maintenance employees, project teams, and contractors, executing on critical initiatives and projects in a fast-paced production environment.
• Maintenance & Reliability Engineering: Engage teams, improve processes, and utilize assets to optimize facility production and minimize downtime and repair costs.
Your Future:
This co-op experience can lead to a full-time career in various engineering roles, including:
• Production Management Engineers: Lead people, process, and input/product in a plant environment. You’ll be involved in day-to-day supervision, production management meetings, and handling various aspects of government regulations.
• Environmental Engineers: Work with teams, processes, and assets related to the effective operation of plant systems like refrigeration, steam, and wastewater treatment.
• Process/Project Engineering: Develop business cases, select vendors, manage budgets, and lead projects related to process optimization, safety, quality, and infrastructure.
• Maintenance & Reliability Engineers: Supervise teams, improve processes, and utilize assets to ensure minimal downtime and repair costs using tools like RCM, FMEA, RCA, and 5S.

Location:
The co-op is available at various Cargill plant locations across the United States. You must be open to relocating for this opportunity.
Physical Requirements:
This role involves moderate physical exertion with regular bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, and frequent lifting of 10-25 pounds. Exposure to conditions like heat, cold, and grain dust may also be expected.
