About the Job:
Eastman is seeking a highly-skilled and experienced Human Resources Manager to join its team in Kingsport, Tennessee. The HR Manager will support Vice Presidents and related teams within a client organization, with a focus on driving people outcomes in support of the organizational strategy.
Responsibilities:
• Provides HR consulting services to stakeholders regarding processes managed, in both proactive and reactive ways.
• Develops and implements HR strategies/outcomes that align with the organization’s priorities, in collaboration with HR partners, CoE’s, Regional HR, Legal, and other groups.
• Supports local or company-wide HR processes or initiatives to gain adoption and desired outcomes with the client organization.
• Analyzes trends and identifies issues in and across teams, synthesizes results of analysis, and makes sound recommendations.
• Facilitates the building/development of talent capabilities to support the business strategy.
• Aides/advises on building leader capability in various levels of people managers to facilitate an open, inclusive, values-based environment that enables effective employee experience.
• Manages complex employee relations cases. Provides coaching and counseling to people managers and employees. Escalates to more senior team members or team leads when necessary.
• Provides guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Instills trust and confidence by maintaining objectivity and clearly communicating the rationale behind recommendations. Remains composed, patient, and professional at all times.
• Fosters a culture of ethical behavior. Ensures that the client organization follows Eastman and HR policies and regulations, as well as local workforce laws. Ensures business leaders make decisions and take actions that are in accordance with them. Mitigates potential risk to the company.
• May be included as a team member or may lead other various HR-related projects with a wider focus on the organization or geography of which they are a part.
Qualifications:
• BS/BA degree required.
• Advanced degree in HR preferred.
• PHR/SHRM-CP preferred or equivalent working experience.
• 5+ years of relevant, HR-focused work experience.
Skills:
• Strong business acumen and people acumen, and ability to consult, coach, and influence business leaders at a leader and managerial level around complex HR decisions.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong systems-thinking ability. Demonstrable experience in analyzing business issues and providing scalable HR solutions that address & align to broader business requirements.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and achieve results in a fast-paced, matrixed team environment.
• Ability to manipulate and analyze HR data and drive solutions or recommendations based on data insights.
• Demonstrated knowledge of US employment laws such as EEOC guidelines, FLSA, and ADA in the US or equivalent labor laws in international locations.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and cultures.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
• Proficient in HRIS systems and other HR-related software, as well as Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Experience in another HR function, such as Talent Management, Organization Design, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, or Benefits, is a plus.
