About the Job
Eastman is seeking a CRT Plastics Processing Engineer to join their team. This position is responsible for qualifying new feedstocks and improving the plastics processing process. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 1+ years of direct manufacturing support experience.
Responsibilities
• Qualification of feedstocks through 3rd party processing and through CRT
• Close partnership with gasification department on qualification trials and overall CRT operation
• Partnering with internal stakeholders on demonstration projects with key customers
• Point of contact for sourcing to partner with on questions from suppliers
• Close working relationship with commercial teams to understand CRT feedstock strategy and ensure alignment with technology and capabilities
• Point of contact for managing B549 densification trials for CRT
• Work with feedstock technical leaders to understand and implement new screening protocols
• Identify and improve processes to enable robustness of CRT and pre-processing operation
• Serve as division rep for any new capital projects to enable improvements of CRT or pre-processing operation
• Awareness of external technologies and capabilities to enable broader feedstock portfolio
• Manage trials of new technologies at 3rd party facilities
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 1+ years of direct manufacturing support required.
• 3+ years of experience preferred.
• Ability to make decisions with limited information.
• High level of adaptability.
• Comfortable with giving external presentations.
• Ability to engage with external parties, suppliers, customers, etc.
• Must be a self-starter with a focus on results. Ability to lead and drive challenging projects forward despite uncertainties.
• Confident in working within a matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders.
• Comfortable challenging peers and supervision to develop creative solutions.
• Excellent written, listening, and verbal communication skills.
