Job Description:
The Pharmacy Intern position at Piedmont Columbus Midtown is responsible for assisting the pharmacist with various tasks related to pharmacy operations. This includes:
• Procurement, distribution, documentation, and compounding of drugs, solutions, and equipment
• Maintaining familiarity with medication dosages and volumes for different patient populations
• Admixing medications to IV solutions, including preparation of unit dose syringes and chemotherapy medications
• Maintaining adequate stock levels in assigned areas
• Providing drug information and patient education under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
• Completing assigned projects, such as staff education and clinical data collection and analysis
Qualifications:
• Enrollment in or acceptance to an accredited school or college of pharmacy
• Experience as a pharmacy technician preferred
• Registration with the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy as an Intern or Pharmacy Technician
