Job Description

The Lead SEC Reporting Analyst is responsible for the preparation and review of financial statements and related disclosures for quarterly and annual filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The Analyst will also work cross-functionally to obtain information from business units necessary for the preparation of workpapers supporting both internal and external financial reporting requirements.

Essential Functions

• Prepare and review financial statements, including the statement of cash flows, and related footnotes for three public registrants in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations
• Work cross functionally to obtain information from business units necessary for the preparation of workpapers supporting both internal and external financial reporting requirements
• Review workpapers prepared by other team members for completeness and accuracy of disclosures in accordance with reporting requirements
• Research and maintain strong technical accounting knowledge to support appropriate reporting and partner with Accounting Research team on implementation of new accounting pronouncements and SEC rulings
• Prepare quarterly and annual disclosure checklists to ensure completeness of required disclosures
• Lead the preparation of standalone external financial reports for filing with the SEC and other regulatory bodies in compliance with US GAAP and other regulatory requirements
• Review XBRL data in Wdesk for assigned areas within SEC filings
• Interface with external auditors to provide supporting documentation as requested
• Perform monthly consolidation function, including any relevant topsides and distribute consolidated results to internal stakeholders
• Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate quarterly reviews and annual audits
• Assist with special projects as needed

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited college or university
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification preferred; if no current certification, progress towards or registration to complete such designation is expected for first year
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience required; Public Accounting experience preferred
• Knowledge of GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
• Experience with Wdesk, BPC and EPM a plus
• Proficient in most recent version of SAP, Microsoft Excel and Word
