About the Company:
Cedar Fair Entertainment Company is a large, publicly held company that owns and operates 13 amusement parks, four water parks, and five hotels. The company’s flagship park is Cedar Point, which is located in Sandusky, Ohio. Cedar Fair also owns and operates parks in California, Georgia, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Virginia.
Job Description:
Cedar Fair Entertainment Company is seeking two summer interns to fill highly visible audit staff positions at its Cedar Point location. The interns will work exclusively on the company’s Cloud audit program and will also perform Sarbanes Oxley audits under the direction of a Corporate Internal Audit Manager.
Responsibilities:
• Perform all of the company’s summer Sarbanes Oxley audits under the direction of a Corporate Internal Audit Manager
• Conduct audits on controls over revenue, cash receipts, accounting and computer systems, payroll, purchasing and expenditures, inventory, and other areas
• Write conclusions and recommendations for improvements to controls and procedures
• Other projects as assigned
Qualifications:
• No prior audit experience is necessary
• Must be highly motivated and able to work professionally with and without supervision
• Excellent communication skills
• Willing to work approximately 40-45 hours per week over 5 days
• Must be an Accounting major in their sophomore year or above
• Preferred completion of two accounting courses prior to the internship
• Preferred enrollment or completion of at least one accounting course prior to the interview
Availability:
• The internship is available between the months of May and August.
