About the Community Wellness Intern Position
The Community Wellness Intern position at Chartwells Higher Education provides an opportunity for undergraduate nutrition and dietetics students to gain practical experience in the field of foodservice nutrition. Working closely with hospitality leaders at the University of Arkansas Fayetteville, interns will develop skills and competencies in various areas, including:
• Foodservice operations
• Nutrient analysis
• Marketing and promoting health-promoting foods
• Nutrition education campaigns
• Menu planning
• Food safety
• Innovation implementation
• Client relationship skills
Key Responsibilities
As a Community Wellness Intern, you will be involved in a variety of tasks, including:
• Supporting educational nutrition campaigns
• Assisting with menu planning to promote healthy eating
• Conducting market research and analyzing data
• Managing website and social media content related to wellness initiatives
• Providing exceptional guest experiences by ensuring safe food handling and a positive dining environment
• Collaborating with the team to implement innovative nutrition and wellness programs
Qualifications
• Currently enrolled as an undergraduate nutrition and dietetics student
• A passion for food service management and a strong interest in culinary arts and service
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Detail-oriented and organized with a keen eye for accuracy
• Knowledge of sustainability practices and their application in the food service industry
• Interest in one or more areas such as sustainability, carbon footprint reduction, farm-to-fork initiatives, special dietary needs, and quality assurance
