Job Description:

The Community & Public Relations Intern will play a vital role within the Marketing department of The UPS Store, Inc. This internship offers an exciting opportunity to learn about the intersection of community relations and public relations in a large organization.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with planning, writing, and publishing content for both franchisee and external customer audiences
• Correspond with the franchise network on PR and community relations matters
• Educate franchisees about PR support tools and content
• Assist with writing franchisee and customer stories, conducting interviews, and preparing editorial content
• Research new PR tactics and competitor trends
• Provide updated content for the company website
• Participate in Community Relations work supporting Corporate Social Responsibility charities
• Help with special projects
• Perform data analysis and interpret findings for Marketing campaigns

Requirements:

• Knowledge of public relations skills, including writing press releases, responding to media queries, and public speaking
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• 2 years of undergraduate education in Public Relations, Marketing Communication, Digital Engagement, or a related field (preferred)
• Experience using Microsoft Office suite of products (preferred)
• Ability to synthesize information, think critically, and provide creative feedback
• Interest in supporting charitable causes

Additional Information:

• This is an internship position.
• The intern must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.
• The employer will not sponsor a visa for this or future positions.
• The intern must be currently located in San Diego, CA, or willing to relocate prior to the start of the internship.
• The intern must be a rising college junior or senior, or a recent graduate within the last 24 months.
• The intern must be able to work in-person at The UPS Store, Inc., headquarters.
