The Tone:
This is a part-time internship at Cerity Partners. Cerity Partners is a nationally recognized registered investment advisory dedicated to providing wealth management and financial planning services. This role is crucial for college students seeking hands-on experience, supporting the tax team by preparing essential tax documentation. It offers a unique opportunity to enhance formal education with real-world career-related experience within the financial industry.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Part-time, Seasonal (25-30 hours per week January to Mid-April)
• Location: In-person

• Team: Tax Team, reporting to Tax Advisors and Tax Administrators
• Mission: Assist in the preparation of federal, state, and local individual and business income tax returns.
• Tech Stack: UltraTax CS, Engagement Manager, SurePrep, FirmFlow, GoFileRoom, Microsoft Office, Adobe Applications

What You’ll Actually Do
• Tax Preparation: Assist in preparing federal, state, and local individual and business income tax returns using UltraTax CS.
• Workpaper Creation: Develop workpapers in Engagement Manager and SurePrep that clearly document project preparation.
• Workflow Management: Utilize FirmFlow and GoFileRoom to maintain accurate statuses of tax workflows.
• Tax Research: Research and analyze a wide range of tax issues.
• Administrative Support: Perform other duties as requested by Tax Advisors and Tax Administrators.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited university, majoring in Finance, Accounting, or a related business degree, with a minimum 3.2 GPA.
• Experience: Participation in campus organizations, ideally in a leadership capacity, and/or relevant professional work experience.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Applications; strong collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills; keen and consistent attention to detail; ability to maintain confidentiality.
