Staff Accountant | AMSURG

The Tone:
This is an entry-level accounting position at AMSURG, located in Nashville, TN with a remote-centric hybrid schedule. AMSURG is a nationally recognized leader in the strategic and operational management of ambulatory surgery centers, operating over 250 centers across the U.S. This role is crucial for ensuring the accurate and timely financial accounting and reporting for assigned surgery centers, supporting the company’s mission to deliver high-quality patient care through clinician-led organizations.

• Mission: Own the accounting and financial functions for assigned ambulatory surgery centers, ensuring accurate financial reporting and cash management.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support center personnel as the primary resource for all financial issues and inquiries.
• Manage cash flow, including oversight of daily activity, maintenance of proprietary cash management systems, and facilitating fund movements.
• Prepare financial statements by creating all necessary general ledger journal entries and cash flow statements, reviewing for accuracy.
• Analyze end-of-month financial packages, identify large variations, create appropriate general ledger entries, and report findings to management.
• Reconcile all assigned center bank accounts to the general ledger, investigating discrepancies, identifying process issues, and training center personnel on best practices.

• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited College or University; Entry-Level career.
• Experience: No specific years of experience explicitly required for this entry-level role.
• Skills: Detail-oriented and organized, strong verbal and written communication, ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks effectively, high integrity, good judgment.
