Junior Accountant | Illumination Works

This position is crucial for supporting the company’s financial health and continued growth through accurate financial management, timely invoicing, effective accounts receivable management, and strong financial organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Records: Support day-to-day accounting activities by maintaining accurate and well-organized financial records.
• Invoicing: Prepare, review, and submit customer invoices accurately and on schedule.
• Accounts Receivable: Maintain accounts receivable records and proactively track outstanding customer balances, following up on aging items.
• General Accounting: Assist with account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close activities.
• Process Improvement: Identify discrepancies and process gaps, supporting continuous improvement of finance and accounting processes.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, with a working knowledge of accounting principles and general practices.
• Experience: 1-3 years of professional experience in accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including familiarity with accounts receivable, customer invoicing, and financial reconciliation.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, excellent organizational and time-management skills, effective verbal and written communication.
• Bonus: Hands-on experience with Unanet for project accounting, billing, or financial reporting, experience with government contracting or professional services accounting, understanding of project-based accounting, or familiarity with month-end close and financial reporting.
