• Location: In-person – Malaysia
• Team: Leads a high-performing consulting and technology team, reporting to the Southeast Asia and Australia Business Leader.
• Mission: Lead, develop, and grow the life insurance and actuarial consulting practice in Malaysia through exceptional client delivery, business growth, and talent development.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Team Leadership: Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing consulting and technology team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Client Excellence: Ensure the successful delivery of high-quality life insurance client solutions and services, while maintaining strong, trusted relationships with key clients and stakeholders and supporting Southeast Asia and Australia teams in complex challenges.
• Business Development: Contribute to the achievement of business objectives and financial performance by identifying opportunities to expand existing client relationships and developing new business for the practice.
• Strategic Execution: Translate strategic priorities into effective execution, strengthen client relationships, and collaborate across teams to maximise opportunities and deliver integrated solutions.
• Talent Development: Coach, mentor, and support colleagues to achieve their professional goals, build team capability, create accountability, and develop succession plans for future leaders.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Minimum 15+ years experience in actuarial/insurance consulting or within the life insurance industry.
• Experience: Proven experience successfully managing multiple projects and leading the production of high-quality deliverables on time and within budget. This includes a demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution.
• Skills: Deep technical actuarial and insurance expertise in areas such as IFRS 17, Finance Transformation, Health insurance, or ALM; strong market knowledge; commercial awareness with experience supporting business growth; proven experience leading and developing successful teams, including coaching and mentoring; ability to build trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders, presenting complex ideas effectively.
• Bonus: An International Actuarial qualification (Qualified) is preferred; experience or interest in selling technology solutions and projects to insurance/financial institutions is a plus.
