What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Analysis: Analyze and comprehensively review client accounting records and financial statements to ensure accuracy and adherence to accounting principles.
• Control Evaluation: Evaluate internal control systems, assess audit risk and materiality, and ensure compliance with established auditing standards through systematic inquiry, careful observation, and detailed review processes.
• Document Preparation: Assist diligently in preparing detailed workpapers that effectively support audit procedures and findings.
• Performance Testing: Perform substantive testing and conduct analytical review procedures to identify significant fluctuations or unusual items.
• Client Support: Provide direct assistance with client engagements and various other assigned projects, thereby gaining significant exposure to a wide array of industries and diverse business environments.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This is an entry-level internship position requiring candidates to be a Junior or Senior Accounting Major, pursuing a Business-related degree, or an MBA Candidate enrolled in an Accounting track program.
• Experience: Must be capable of working a minimum of 20-40 hours per week throughout the internship period, which runs from January to April. Candidates must also possess the ability to commute reliably to one of Withum’s office locations.
• Skills: Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication abilities and strong computer skills are essential for this role.
• Bonus: A preferred academic achievement includes a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
