2027 Summer Intern – Accounting Business Systems Analyst (Raleigh, NC) | First Citizens Bank

What You’ll Actually Do
• Contribute to project work, research, and analytics within the Corporate Accounting group.
• Support process review, improvement initiatives, and technology enhancements.
• Participate in professional development sessions, informational events, networking, and community service activities.
• Complete a dedicated project to improve a specific process or solve a business problem.
• Prepare and deliver a wrap-up presentation detailing accomplishments and experiences to key stakeholders.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled at an accredited collegiate institution at the time of the summer program, with a High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of experience.
• Experience: Ability to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the program (May 24, 2027 – July 30, 2027).
• Skills: Advanced Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, dashboards), SQL Fundamentals (select statements, joins, aggregations), Data Analytics (cleansing, validation, statistical analysis), Financial Accounting principles (GAAP, journal entries, accrual accounting), Internal Controls awareness, Financial Analysis, Adaptability, Communication (Written & Verbal), Critical Thinking.
• Bonus: Current Junior/rising Senior pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Management Information Systems within a business program (3.0 minimum GPA). Experience with Advanced Excel, SQL, and Data Analytics. Proficient in AI & digital skills, including foundational understanding and effective utilization of generative AI tools with critical thinking and business judgment. Strong desire to learn and grow, positive attitude, curiosity, collaborative nature, multitasking ability, adaptability, and quick information absorption.
