Staff Accountant | MHW
The Tone:
This is a full-time entry-level role at MHW, located in Manhasset, NY, with a hybrid work environment requiring in-office presence every Wednesday. This position is vital for supporting the Finance & Accounting department on various tasks, ensuring efficient financial operations as the company continues to grow and assist new brands. What You’ll Actually Do
• Process daily transactions: Handle daily receivables, payables, and other cross-functional accounting tasks.
• Account analysis: Analyze and review accounts and reconciliations for over 300 divisions.
• General ledger entries: Prepare, review, and post journal entries to the general ledger.
• Regulatory compliance: Ensure adherence to state regulatory requirements.
• Stakeholder support: Provide customer service to clients, customers, and stakeholders via phone and email, and assist with collections processes to safeguard company assets.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. An Accounting degree is preferable.
• Experience: 0-2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to multi-task while maintaining a high attention to detail; capacity to work independently as well as part of a team with flexibility and willingness to learn.
• Bonus: Experience or knowledge of the beverage alcohol industry.
