Summer 2028 Accounting Intern | BGM

The Tone:
This is an internship role at BGM, located in Des Moines, IA. BGM offers a comprehensive suite of advisory, audit, accounting, and tax services to entrepreneurs, businesses, organizations, and individuals. This internship is designed to give accounting students meaningful, hands-on experience and help them explore a career in public accounting. Interns will contribute to real client work, build essential technical skills, and gain exposure to both audit and tax functions alongside experienced professionals.

• Mission: To gain hands-on public accounting experience by contributing to client engagements and supporting audit and tax functions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Assurance Support: Assist with audits, reviews, compilations, and other assurance engagements.
• Tax Assistance: Support tax return preparation and other tax-related projects.
• Data Analysis: Collect and analyze client information and financial data.
• Issue Identification: Assist engagement teams with identifying issues and communicating findings.
• Project Work: Complete tax research and special projects as needed.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting; Entry-Level career seeking public accounting experience.
• Experience: Available to work approximately 20–30 hours per week during the internship; able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Skills: Service-minded with strong interpersonal skills; strong verbal and written communicator; curious, dependable, and willing to learn.
