• Team: Works within the Audit department, reporting to experienced professionals including Partners, Managers, Seniors, and Staff.
• Mission: To support the audit department by performing key tasks in financial statement audits and tax return preparation, contributing to client engagement success and internal development.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Statement Audits: Assist in the audit of selected financial statement accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• System Documentation: Document accounting systems and internal controls to understand client operational processes.
• Audit Work Papers: Prepare appropriate audit work papers, detailing procedures performed and conclusions reached.
• Reporting Assistance: Help in the preparation of financial statements and management letters for various clients.
• Tax Preparation: Prepare tax returns, primarily Form 5500 for employee benefit plans and Form 990 for tax-exempt organizations.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; this is an entry-level position.
• Experience: Completion of the Intermediate Accounting course is required, along with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills are essential for effective collaboration and documentation.
• Bonus: Involvement in extra-curricular and volunteer activities is preferred.
