The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Generations, LLC. Generations is a family-owned and operated business that has been serving senior living communities across California, Colorado, Oregon, Utah, and Washington since 1943. This Staff Accountant position is critical for ensuring the smooth financial operations of the organization by accurately processing transactions and contributing to financial reporting. The role supports various internal teams and is expected to embody the company’s core Mission, Vision, and Values in all daily tasks and interactions.

• Team: Reports to Senior Accountant or Controller, supporting Business Office Coordinators.
• Mission: Responsible for timely and accurate processing of accounts payable and the preparation of financial statements.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounts Payable Processing: Ensure timely and accurate processing of all accounts payable transactions.
• Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare comprehensive financial statements for management and compliance purposes.
• Internal Customer Service: Provide dedicated customer service support to Business Office Coordinators across various communities.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Offer essential support to the Senior Accountant and Controller, assisting with various financial tasks.
• Values Integration: Consistently incorporate Generations’ Mission, Vision, and Values into daily work and all professional interactions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates should possess an Associate degree in Accounting or Finance, or demonstrate a minimum of three years of relevant experience in a similar accounting role. This position is suitable for an early career professional looking to grow within a supportive environment.
• Experience: Prior experience within the senior living or broader health care industry is a required qualification for this role.
• Skills: A strong working knowledge of accounting best practices is essential. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate the ability to work effectively both independently and as a valued member of a team. Furthermore, excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for this cross-functional position, alongside a compassionate and patient demeanor, especially when interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
