Accounting Associate / Analyst | Creatd

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Creatd, with hybrid flexibility for candidates in the New York City Metropolitan Area. Creatd is a small cap public holding company in the creator economy, currently overseeing two subsidiaries with more entities planned. The finance function is a lean, one-person team, and this role directly supports the Controller. You will be instrumental in handling recurring accounting tasks for a public company, ensuring clean and accurate work that enables the Controller to focus on strategic initiatives.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Close Management: Handle the full month-end close process across all entities, including recurring journal entries, accruals, and fixed asset schedules.
• Account Reconciliations: Perform monthly reconciliations for all bank, receivables, inventory, prepaids, brokerage, accrued liabilities, payroll, and debt accounts.
• SEC Reporting Assistance: Support the Controller in preparing schedules and workpapers for 10-Q and 10-K filings, ensuring audit-ready tie-out support.
• Audit & Review Support: Prepare schedules and gather documentation against the PBC list, turning around requests quickly during fieldwork.
• Operational Accounting & Systems: Oversee accounts payable, payment runs, payroll journal entries, multi-state payroll tax liability reconciliation, cash reporting, and help standardize and enforce the chart of accounts in QuickBooks Online.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. One to two years of accounting experience with a working knowledge of US GAAP.
• Experience: One to two years of accounting experience, ideally with some exposure to public company reporting or public company audit clients. Required QuickBooks Online experience.
• Skills: Strong Excel capability creating multi-tab workbooks with clean, traceable formulas; sound judgment to identify questions above your line; discretion handling material nonpublic information.
• Bonus: Exposure to Workiva or another SEC reporting platform; comfort with ambiguity and building processes within unfinished infrastructure.
