Staff Accountant | Newport Healthcare

As a Staff Accountant, you will ensure the accuracy of financial records, streamline accounting processes, and support overall financial health, directly contributing to the company’s robust financial management.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Analyze Trends: Analyze month-over-month Profit and Loss trends to make necessary accruals and reclasses.
• Ensure Accuracy: Verify business records, transactions, and procedures for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards.
• Streamline Operations: Identify and create efficiencies in the month-end close cycle and develop forms and manuals for accounting personnel.
• Manage Daily Cash: Manage daily cash by downloading, updating, and posting bank activity, distributing reports, and preparing daily cash summaries.
• Reconcile and Close: Maintain monthly reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts and prepare routine closing journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree required, with an emphasis in finance or accounting preferred. This is an early career role.
• Experience: One to two years of professional experience preferred. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel is a requirement.
• Skills: Financial analysis, account reconciliation, journal entry preparation, audit support, and process improvement.
• Bonus: Experience with Microsoft D365 and SAP Concur platforms.
