The Tone:
This is a full-time, compensated internship at Union Home Mortgage Corp., located in Strongsville, Ohio. Union Home Mortgage operates a L.E.A.D Internship Program designed to provide a fun, interesting, and real-world environment for interns to learn about the industry, be educated by leadership, achieve personal goals, and develop skills. This role is crucial for gaining practical internal audit experience by applying a structured methodology to evaluate company operations and ensure proper controls. The program treats interns like full-time Partners, providing opportunities for shadowing, mentoring, professional development, and group projects.

• Team: Reports to the Internal Audit Team Lead.
• Mission: To learn and apply internal audit methodology to conduct audits and ensure internal controls are functioning as intended from start to finish.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Methodology Application: Learn and apply the 13-Step Audit Methodology.
• Audit Testing: Conduct audit testing as assigned to evaluate internal controls.
• Planning: Create and update audit scope and testing plans.
• Research: Perform research assignments to support audit projects.
• Reporting: Prepare audit reports by accurately stating findings, observations, and providing suggested corrective action.

The Must-Haves
• Background: College student with an Accounting, Business, Law or Finance major, or has an interest in Internal Audit.
• Experience: Junior or Senior Standing.
• Skills: Attention to detail, ability to multitask, strong verbal and written communication skills, strong critical thinking and analytical skills, inquisitive.
