As a Senior Accountant, this role is essential for supporting Arup’s operations in Vietnam by ensuring accurate financial reporting, payroll management, and tax compliance in accordance with local regulations, directly contributing to the firm’s financial integrity and success.

• Mission: Ensure accurate financial reporting, payroll, and tax compliance in Vietnam, managing day-to-day accounting operations.
• Tech Stack: JDE, Concur

What You’ll Actually Do
• Record Keeping: Record and document all financial transactions, including expenses, revenues, and journal entries, ensuring proper classification and maintenance within the local accounting book.
• Tax Management: Prepare and issue accurate VAT invoices in a timely manner, and manage Foreign Contractor Tax (FCT) responsibilities, including tax code registration, calculation, and report submission.
• Payroll Review: Review and verify payroll calculations, which encompass salaries, overtime, allowances, personal income tax (PIT), and mandatory social, health, and insurance contributions for employees.
• Compliance Support: Assist with the preparation and submission of various tax declarations, such as VAT and PIT, and provide comprehensive support for the year-end tax finalization process.
• System Operations: Perform critical reconciliations for bank accounts, accounts receivable, and accounts payable, and handle all issues and generate necessary reports within the Concur and JDE financial systems.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with core domain knowledge in general accounting.
• Experience: Minimum 5 to 7 years of professional accounting experience, specifically as a General Accountant.
• Skills: Fluent in written and spoken English and Vietnamese, excellent organizational and communication skills, good understanding of Vietnamese tax and corporate requirements.
• Bonus: Experience within a professional service or consulting business environment.
