This role is crucial for supporting clients with their state and local tax compliance and advisory needs, contributing directly to the firm’s commitment to delivering trusted and innovative tax solutions. The Tax Associate Staff II will be instrumental in managing critical tax processes and client interactions within the firm’s largest service line.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Data Management: Organize and cleanse client data to support the tax department’s operations.
• Tax Preparation: Prepare various state and local tax returns for clients throughout the United States.
• Client & Authority Interaction: Interact directly with clients and state tax authorities to address inquiries and manage processes.
• Compliance & Licensing: Manage registrations and business licenses on behalf of clients.
• Research & Advisory: Conduct thorough research and strong writing to support tax positions and identify solutions for client issues.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or an equivalent field.
• Experience: 1+ years of State and Local Tax (SALT) experience.
• Skills: Strong research and writing abilities, capacity to work effectively in a group setting, ability to perform tasks independently, and a creative approach to problem-solving.
• Bonus: CPA certification is a plus.
