Assurance Intern – Winter 2028 (Columbus) | BDO USA

• Mission: Assist in problem-solving and fact-finding for clients within the Assurance practice, gaining hands-on experience and forging relationships within the firm.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Training: Gain familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Auditing Standards through a structured on-the-job training program.
• Methodology: Apply BDO’s specific audit methodology to support various stages of the audit process.
• Communication: Communicate with clients’ customers, creditors, banks, and related parties concerning audit issues.
• Documentation: Prepare and document work in working papers utilizing BDO’s specific tools and templates.
• Research: Complete an assigned accounting or audit related research project and present findings to a panel of Assurance professionals.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Accounting.
• Experience: No prior professional experience required; leadership experience is preferred.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Bonus: Pursuing a Master’s degree in Accounting; actively working towards school credits to become a CPA; strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively in a team setting.
