Books-A-Million

Books-A-Million is the nation’s second-largest book retailer, dedicated to connecting readers with a vast array of books and literary experiences. Our journey began modestly as a street-corner newsstand in Florence, Alabama in 1917. Today, we proudly operate over 200 Books-A-Million stores across 32 states and online at Booksamillion.com, alongside our thriving subsidiary, 2nd & Charles, which brings new and used books and pop culture items to more than 40 locations. We also support the wider industry through our wholesale and distribution subsidiary, American Wholesale Book Company.

Headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, Books-A-Million maintains strong operational roots in Florence, Alabama, where our wholesale and distribution hub continues to operate. We foster a culture that cherishes our rich history while embracing innovation, creating a dynamic environment where a passion for literature and community thrives.
