Accounting Internship – Summer 2027 | P2S

The Tone:
This is a Summer Internship at P2S, located in Long Beach, CA. This role is crucial for an Accounting student to gain practical, hands-on experience, applying financial concepts learned in class to real-world industry challenges and contributing to the daily operations of a well-established engineering firm.

The TL;DR

• Mission: Apply financial concepts and support the accounting team’s operations, including record keeping, reconciliations, and close activities.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
• Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts, ledgers, and journal entries.
• Close Activities: Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
• Operational Support: Support AP and AR departments with department related activities to ensure timely payments and collections.
• Compliance: Support audits and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards essential for career development.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program specializing in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
• Experience: No prior professional experience is explicitly required, as this program is designed to provide comprehensive training and development. Interns will have opportunities to engage in month-end close activities and support various accounting functions.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail and accuracy; effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to work collaboratively as a team player; efficient organizational and time-management abilities; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
