The TL;DR

• Type: Seasonal (Part-time during Tax season, Full-time during Audit season)

• Pay: $15–$28 hourly
• Team: Works under the supervision and alongside more experienced Tax and Audit professionals.
• Mission: To support tax and audit engagements by assisting with preparations, documentation, and data management while developing professional skills and industry understanding.
• Tech Stack: Accounting software, Tax software, Microsoft Office, Autoflow.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Tax Assistance: Assist experienced Tax professionals in the preparation of basic tax returns and extensions, including scanning and validating tax documents into Autoflow, and reconciling general ledger tax accounts.
• Audit Support: Contribute to various stages of the audit process by preparing and documenting workpapers using firm-specific tools and templates, and reviewing the adequacy of client’s internal control systems.
• Data Management: Import data such as working trial balances and other client files into the firm’s workpaper files, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
• Professional Development: Engage in a structured on-the-job training program to learn accounting and tax software, develop an understanding of internal CPA practices, and assist with drafting client financial statements.
• Team Collaboration: Work side-by-side with more experienced Audit and Tax professionals to assist in problem-solving and fact-finding, providing support to all levels of Associates and Partners, and developing an understanding of teamwork within the work environment.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Accounting Major who intends to begin their career in public accounting, functioning at an entry-level capacity.
• Experience: Currently a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior, with at least one section of Intermediate Accounting completed successfully. This role requires availability of 15-20 hours per week during Tax season (January-April) and 20-40 hours per week during Audit season (May-August).
• Skills: Demonstrated strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills, along with intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Bonus: Possessing a GPA of 3.0 or higher, aspiring to obtain the CPA certification, a positive attitude and willingness to learn, the ability to multi-task and work effectively in an environment with deadlines, and a willingness to travel on occasion, especially during Audit season.
