Principal Specialist, Compensation Operations | RTX

The Tone:
This is a hybrid role at RTX, located in Farmington, CT or Cedar Rapids, IA. This role within the Total Rewards Operations team is critical for delivering accurate, timely, and consistent compensation services, providing exceptional experiences for employees and high-quality centralized HR support.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Operational Support: Provide day-to-day operational support for compensation processes, ensuring strict adherence to established policies and business controls.
• Case Management: Manage and resolve compensation-related cases and inquiries within established service level agreements, including complex or non-standard issues.
• Process Ownership: Own and manage assigned compensation operational processes, ensuring effective execution, controls, accurate documentation, and consistent service delivery.
• Issue Resolution: Lead investigation and resolution of complex compensation-related data and process issues, identifying trends, root causes, and opportunities for sustainable solutions.
• Annual Cycle Support: Support annual compensation cycle activities, including reporting, data consolidation, validation, and system readiness tasks.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Requires a University Degree or equivalent experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field. This role specifically requires experience supporting HR Operations, including compensation programs, processes, or analysis.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or 3 years with an Advanced Degree. This includes proficiency with Excel, demonstrating the ability to analyze and organize data using tools such as pivot tables and charts.
• Skills: High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and compliance. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex issues, analyze data for trends and root causes, and recommend practical solutions. Strong business acumen and the ability to interpret policy and process requirements. Strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly convey information to employees and HR partners.
• Bonus: Experience with ServiceNow and Workday. A working knowledge of compensation principles, including the ability to apply established compensation guidelines and interpret compensation data. Experience supporting operational enhancements, continuous improvement projects, or system transitions. Familiarity with RTX systems, programs, or processes.
