Accounting Intern | KASK America

The Tone:
This is an internship at KASK America. The company is a growing organization focused on various business, accounting, and technology initiatives. This role is crucial for providing hands-on support in implementing new software systems, managing state tax compliance, handling data, and assisting with accounting operations. The intern will contribute directly to key business projects, gaining valuable exposure to cross-functional operations and process improvements.

The TL;DR

• Team: Working within the accounting team, collaborating with Finance, Technology, Customer Support, Operations, and Supply Chain.
• Mission: To support business, accounting, and technology initiatives, contributing to new software implementation, state tax setup, data management, and daily accounting operations.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support Software Implementation: Assist with implementation, testing, and setup of new business software applications, including data migration and validation.
• Manage Tax Compliance Efforts: Aid in state tax registrations, setup, compliance tracking, and conduct research on multi-state tax requirements.
• Enhance Operational Efficiency: Document business processes, workflows, and system procedures, and participate in process improvement initiatives.
• Perform Core Accounting Support: Assist with account reconciliations, financial record maintenance, accounts payable and receivable tasks, and month-end activities.
• Provide Data Analysis and Reporting: Prepare spreadsheets, reports, and conduct data audits for accuracy and management review.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level, pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Experience: Demonstrated interest in accounting, business systems, technology, and process improvement.
• Skills: Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams; strong attention to detail and organizational skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; analytical mindset.
• Bonus: Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously, and a willingness to learn new software and business processes.
