Audit Internship – Spring 2028 | Wipfli

The Tone:
This is an Audit Internship at Wipfli, located in various Wipfli offices or client sites, requiring an in-person work arrangement. The TL;DR

• Mission: To utilize educational knowledge and experience to perform various accounting-related responsibilities and support client engagements.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Communication: Respond to client and firm associate requests in a timely, accurate, positive, and professional manner.
• Information Gathering: Work with clients to gather necessary information for the completion of required documents.
• Data Analysis: Utilize data analysis skills to discover useful information and patterns that provide support for recommendations.
• Audit Procedures: Perform audit, review, and compliance testing procedures in accordance with firm and professional standards.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare or review client-prepared financial statements, footnotes, management reports, and other engagement outputs.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level position for individuals pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
• Experience: Completion of a corporate or individual taxation class is required, and candidates should possess above average knowledge in accounting, demonstrated by a preferred college GPA of 3.0 or higher. Individuals should also be working towards eligibility to sit for the CPA exam upon graduation.
• Skills: Ability to think independently and make sound decisions based on education and experience, possess good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and staff, and demonstrate the ability to prioritize work, follow through on requests, take initiative, and meet deadlines. Legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis upon hire.
• Bonus: Preferred coursework in Data Analytics or Big Data.
