Tax/Audit Intern – Winter 2027 – Northern MN | CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen)

This is an internship position at CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen), located in Northern MN across St Cloud, Monticello, Brainerd, and Alexandria. The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: In-person St Cloud, Monticello, Brainerd, and Alexandria, MN
• Pay: $27–$31 hourly
• Mission: To support client engagements by preparing tax returns, performing assurance services, and contributing to overall financial data management.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft (MS) Windows, Office products

What You’ll Actually Do
• Tax Preparation: Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, and various other types of tax returns.
• Assurance Services: Perform audit, review, compilation, and other assurance service activities.
• Procedural Learning: Gain experience, exposure, and knowledge of procedures, workpapers, and firm systems.
• Client Support: Support multiple client engagements on time and within budget, identifying issues and communicating progress.
• Client Communication: Communicate effectively with clients and CLA family members on a regular basis.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Working towards the achievement of a bachelor’s degree with general knowledge of accounting principles and financial data reporting.
• Experience: Achieving credit requirements to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam per state requirements, along with a willingness to learn new technologies.
• Skills: Proficient with Microsoft (MS) Windows and Office products, and possesses reliable transportation for travel to client sites.
• Bonus: A degree in Accounting or Finance is strongly preferred.
