Audit Internship – Spring 2028 | Wipfli

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Full-time or Part-time
• Location: In-person in a Wipfli office or at client sites (local, regional, or national)
• Mission: Utilize educational knowledge and experience to perform numerous accounting-related responsibilities.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Support: Respond to client and firm associate requests in a timely, accurate, positive, and professional manner, gathering necessary information for document completion.
• Data Analysis: Utilize data analysis skills to discover useful information and patterns, providing support for recommendations.
• Process Optimization: Proactively identify improvement opportunities within processes to enhance overall efficiency.
• Audit Procedures: Perform audit, review, and compliance testing procedures in accordance with firm and professional standards, communicating timely with engagement leaders regarding open items or issues.
• Financial Document Preparation: Prepare or review client-prepared financial statements, footnotes, management reports, and other engagement outputs, while developing technical competency with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level position pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, with completion of a corporate or individual taxation class required.
• Experience: Demonstrated above-average knowledge in accounting as shown by college GPA, and actively working towards eligibility to sit for the CPA exam upon graduation.
• Skills: Ability to think independently and make good decisions based on education and experience, strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with clients and staff, and the capability to prioritize work, follow through on requests, take initiative, and consistently meet deadlines.
• Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis upon hire; Wipfli will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future for this position.
• Bonus: Preferred coursework in Data Analytics or Big Data, and a preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher.
