Sr Technology Manager | Zions Bank

The Tone:
This is a full-time, in-office role at Zions Bank, located at the Zions Technology Center in Midvale, Utah. Zions Bancorporation’s Enterprise Technology and Operations (ETO) team is committed to transforming the financial institution experience through technology and innovation, building upon over 150 years of service. This Sr. Technology Manager role is pivotal for leading and managing technology teams responsible for the full lifecycle of enterprise technology solutions, from development to continual improvement, ensuring secure, reliable, and cost-effective services for our community, clients, and colleagues.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead Technology Teams: Direct multiple technology teams responsible for application development, infrastructure, systems management, and operations, ensuring high performance and service delivery.
• Develop & Execute Strategy: Create and implement technology strategies, roadmaps, and long-term plans that are aligned with Zions Bank’s organizational objectives.
• Manage Resources & Projects: Oversee departmental budgets, financial resources, vendor partnerships, and the planning and execution of projects according to established PMO delivery processes.
• Ensure Compliance & Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in productivity and system reliability, while ensuring adherence to security, risk, regulatory, incident, and change management requirements.
• Cultivate Partnerships: Collaborate with business, operations, and executive leaders to identify, recommend, implement, and support technology solutions that enhance organizational performance.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Business Management, or a related field; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
• Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in information technology, covering areas such as application development, infrastructure management, systems analysis, and project management. This includes previous leadership experience managing managers, supervisors, and/or multiple technology teams within these domains.
• Skills: Extensive knowledge of software architecture, technical design principles, and various development methodologies. Strong understanding of infrastructure technologies, systems administration, and enterprise application management. Demonstrated proficiency in project management, incident management, change management, risk management, and technology governance practices is essential.
