Fund Accounting Internship | Standish Management, LLC

The Tone:
This is a seasonal internship at Standish Management, LLC, located in California. Standish Management provides specialized fund administration services for Managers and General Partners of private equity funds, including Buy-out, Venture Capital, Real Estate, and Fund-of-Funds. The company also offers consulting services for new General Partners to accelerate fund launches and provides administration services and technology to established General Partners for scaling fund operations. This role is crucial for gaining practical exposure to the private equity and venture capital industries through direct involvement in fund administration and partnership accounting activities during the summer of 2027.

• Mission: Provide financial and administrative support, helping Associates and Fund Controllers deliver specialized fund administration and partnership accounting services for private equity and venture capital clients.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook), QuickBooks (familiarity is a plus)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Support: Assist with the creation and maintenance of financial statement support schedules for various clients.
• Data Management: Perform accurate data entry of financial and client information into the recordkeeping system.
• Filing Systems: Maintain and update various client filing systems to ensure organization and accessibility.
• External Coordination: Provide administrative support to audit and tax teams during their processes.
• Project Assistance: Aid teams with systems conversions and other special projects, including analyzing reports and client documents for discrepancies.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Knowledge of basic Accounting and Finance principles.
• Experience: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Skills: Attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication, ability to multi-task and adhere to strict deadlines, strong organizational skills, and a solid work ethic.
• Bonus: Familiarity with QuickBooks.
