The Tone:
This is a summer internship at AIG, located in Dallas, TX & Chicago, IL. AIG is a global leader in commercial and personal insurance solutions, helping organizations and people manage risk and discover new potential. This role is crucial in reimagining how AIG helps customers, allowing interns to contribute to evaluating and quantifying complex commercial insurance losses. Interns play a part in supporting solutions for clients and fostering growth within the company’s Claims organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Apply accounting principles and analytical techniques to collect, interpret, and analyze financial and business data related to commercial insurance claims.
• Assist with the evaluation and quantification of complex business losses and prepare loss measurements.
• Analyze financial records and perform calculations to support claim evaluations and settlement decisions.
• Collaborate with forensic accountants, claims professionals, and other subject matter experts to incorporate relevant findings into financial analyses.
• Assist with documenting analyses, findings, and conclusions in a clear and accurate manner.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a Master’s degree, with the degree to be received no later than May 2028. This early career program is designed for students beginning their professional careers.
• Experience: Foundational knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, auditing concepts, and business fundamentals. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail, ability to collaborate effectively and manage multiple priorities in a team-oriented environment, and ability to analyze financial information and communicate findings clearly and accurately.
• Bonus: Preferred majors include Accounting, Finance, or a related business or quantitative field. Interest in forensic accounting, financial analysis, commercial insurance, or claims.
