What You’ll Actually Do
• Process financial data: Record transactions in ledgers, prepare trial balances, and create simple financial statements using computer software programs.
• Maintain financial accuracy: Reconcile accounts to control accounts and perform schedule computations for accruals, property, and equipment, including calculating depreciation expense.
• Support tax preparation: Assist in the preparation of various tax returns, including payroll tax, sales tax, other local taxes, and certain personal income tax returns.
• Facilitate audits: Compile workpapers and other accounting reports necessary for audits, and assist with performing assigned audit or review procedures.
• Perform diverse accounting tasks: Contribute to a variety of other accounting, auditing, and tax duties as needed for engagements, under the supervision of different professionals.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Minimum a High School Diploma and completion of at least two years’ work towards a bachelor’s degree, typically in accounting. This role is suited for entry-level candidates.
• Experience: Demonstrated academic progress towards a bachelor’s degree, usually in accounting. Performance will be judged on quality of work, application of accounting knowledge, and ability to meet time constraints.
