Assurance Intern – Winter 2028 | RSM US LLP
The Tone:
This is an in-person internship at RSM US LLP, located at various client sites. RSM is a leading global provider of professional services to the middle market, focused on instilling confidence and empowering clients and people. This role matters by directly supporting the audit function, contributing to client understanding and financial reporting accuracy, and helping clients realize their full potential.
The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: In-person, client locations
• Pay: $34–$40 hourly
• Mission: Assist audit teams in understanding client operations, assessing risks, and ensuring accurate financial reporting for middle-market companies.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Insights: Understand clients’ needs, expectations, business, industry, accounting and control systems, employees, values, and relevant GAAP and GAAS issues.
• Audit Process: Develop an understanding of RSM’s specific audit approach and tools used in professional service delivery.
• Risk Assessment: Evaluate client internal control structures and assess potential risks within their operations.
• Issue Resolution: Perform substantive tests and internal control tests to identify and resolve accounting or reporting issues.
• Financial Reporting: Draft financial statements following prescribed formats and guidelines.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Minimum 90 credit hours completed towards a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent from an accredited university, with an Accounting Major.
• Experience: Entry-level position, requiring travel to assigned client locations and access to and ability to arrange for use of reliable modes of transportation to those locations.
• Skills: Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work effectively on a team.
• Bonus: A minimum 3.0 GPA and the ability to work and manage multiple tasks efficiently in a demanding environment.
