This Accountant, General Ledger role is essential for ensuring the integrity of the company’s financial records, adhering to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and supporting the critical month-end close processes. The successful candidate will play a foundational part in preparing accurate financial statements and reconciliations that are vital for informed decision-making across the organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Generate accurate and timely monthly financial statements and provide support throughout the month-end close process.
• Journal Entries & Ledgers: Prepare journal entries and meticulously maintain balance sheet schedules and ledgers.
• Account Reconciliations: Prepare monthly account reconciliations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
• Compliance & Standards: Ensure accounting records and practices consistently adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies across all business units.
• Documentation & Audit: Maintain proper documentation and organize audit evidence within the department for effective record-keeping.

The Must-Haves
• Background: An early career professional possessing a foundational understanding of accounting principles, potentially holding a Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience: Requires at least six months of prior experience in an accounting position, with a preference for candidates who have worked within a large-scale, luxury resort environment, demonstrating an understanding of relevant financial operations.
• Skills: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word; strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent time management abilities with a proven track record of meeting deadlines; and the critical ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
• Bonus: Candidates who exhibit a professional appearance and demeanor, demonstrate strong supervisory and leadership skills, and are willing and able to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends, are highly valued.
