Agri-Business – Operations Management Trainee (June Co-hort) | Mountaire Farms

The Tone:
This is a full-time management trainee program at Mountaire Farms, located in Delaware and North Carolina with required travel. Mountaire Farms is an agricultural food production and processing company, operating as the fourth largest chicken company in the United States. This role is crucial for developing future leaders by providing extensive hands-on experience across various business functions. The program aims to equip trainees with a comprehensive understanding of operations and the ability to contribute to strategic business challenges.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Rotational Experience: Gain hands-on experience by rotating through critical departments such as Live Operations, Processing, Sales, HR, Accounting, IT, Transportation, and Procurement.
• Operational Understanding: Engage with cross-functional teams to understand operational workflows and business processes within a vertically integrated company.
• Strategic Collaboration: Collaborate with department leaders to identify and work on strategic business initiatives.
• Capstone Project Leadership: Design, develop, and present a high-impact capstone project to senior leadership and executives that addresses a key business challenge.
• Skill Enhancement: Actively participate in leadership and development workshops to enhance personal and professional skills.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Recent graduate with a degree in Agribusiness, Agriculture Studies, Agriculture Economics, or a related field. This is an entry-level position.
• Experience: Strong interest in a career in management and leadership, coupled with a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment; proactive approach to work with a high degree of ownership and accountability.
• Bonus: Must be willing to travel to different facilities throughout the program in Delaware and North Carolina.
