• Mission: Ensure the organization adheres to regulatory requirements and mitigates AML risks associated with client onboarding and ongoing monitoring.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Due Diligence: Support Asia Sales and DCM Bankers by conducting comprehensive due diligence reviews on both new and existing customers, ensuring adherence to regulatory and internal guidelines. This includes handling new onboarding requests and periodic KYC reviews for clients served by MUFG Securities Asia, covering Financial Institutions, Corporate Clients for Global Markets, and Issuers for DCM business.
• KYC Process Management: Act as a Subject Matter Expert for the KYC process, overseeing customer identification and verification, AML risk assessments, and the ongoing monitoring of customer relationships.
• Risk Assessment and Escalation: Perform detailed investigations into customer backgrounds, conduct name screening, and verify regulatory compliance to identify potential risks and suspicious activities. This involves conducting enhanced and specialized due diligence on high-risk customers and escalating appropriate cases to the relevant Compliance and Financial Crime units.
• Record Keeping and Data Integrity: Ensure the timely and accurate completion of KYC documentation, maintain organized CDD records, and precisely input and update customer information within internal systems and spreadsheets.
• Compliance Collaboration & Policy Enhancement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Compliance teams and Client KYC Group EMEA, to address KYC-related issues, assist in implementing and improving KYC policies and procedures, and facilitate client offboarding processes as required.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline with a strong understanding of KYC/AML principles.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in CDD/KYC/AML within banking or other financial institutions.
• Skills: Strong understanding of KYC regulations and best practices including HK SFC and MAS, knowledge of Global Markets and Global Investment Banking products and services, strong oral and written communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, data analysis, and reporting.
