• Mission: Conduct comprehensive audits and analyses of government-sponsored health care programs to ensure compliance and accurate reimbursement.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Review and Analyze: Perform reviews of Medicaid provider cost reports, analyze health care provider financial information, and conduct reimbursement calculations.
• Audit and Investigate: Conduct desk reviews, various on-site audits, and research to determine billing and reimbursement compliance with government program regulations.
• Document Findings: Prepare working papers to document the scope and findings of audits, adhering to Medicaid/government program regulations and AICPA standards.
• Communicate Decisions: Prepare written documents that support professional decisions and effectively communicate findings, demonstrating strong communication skills.
• Ensure Compliance and Security: Review applicable Federal and State policies prior to audits, conduct all phases of the audit, and maintain security and confidentiality of protected health information.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field. This is an early career role focused on accounting principles and financial analysis within health care programs.
• Experience: Internship or equivalent working experience in accounting or a related field. Experience with health care auditing and data analysis is preferred.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; strong verbal and written communication skills; well-organized with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail; proficient use of Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word).
• Bonus: Master’s degree in accounting or a related field; CPA or CPA candidate; ability to review statutory/regulatory or other policy language and apply requirements; ability to travel based on client and business needs.
